Nicholas Burke
Senior Associate
Nicholas Burke has been a member of the California Bar since 2008. He has practice expertise in general civil litigation defense, including business, auto, real estate and product liability.
Mr. Burke received a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2001 and obtained his J.D. at the University of Oregon where he was Associate Editor of the Oregon Review of International Law.
Bryan Coryell
Senior Associate
Bryan Coryell has been a member of the California Bar since 2008. His practice experience includes personal injury, employment, trusts and estates, and a wide-range of general commercial litigation, including real estate, finance, banking, and bankruptcy.
Mr. Coryell received a B.A. and an M.A. for Holy Names University in 2002 and obtained his J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, where he received numerous awards for his writing and advocacy skills. In addition to the State of California, Mr. Coryell is admitted to practice in all Federal District Courts in California and the Federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Matthew McCabe
Counsel
Matthew McCabe has been a member of the California Bar since 1988. He is a highly seasoned and versatile civil litigation attorney. His areas of practice include: insurance, real estate, construction, business, commercial, employment, and trusts & estates.
Mr. McCabe earned his B.A. from Brown University in Providence, RI and went on to receive an M.A. from the London School of Economics & Political Science, and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law.
Wendy Skillman
Associate
Wendy Skillman has been a member of the California Bar since 2001. Wendy has previously worked for the US Attorney's office in Boston, and was a deputy district attorney with the Sonoma and Mendocino County District Attorneys offices. Wendy has tried approximately 100 cases in her career. Wendy works on litigation matters including tort, contract and construction matters.
Ms. Skillman earned her BA from UC Santa Cruz and her J.D. from New England School of Law. In addition to working with O'Brien & Associates, Wendy currently serves as Mayor of the City of Cotati, California.
Larry Caughlan

Larry Caughlan focuses on general civil litigation. He received his undergraduate degree in English from Utah Valley University and his law degree from Chapman Law School. In law school, he was President of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and a member of the mediation clinic and trial practice team.
Mr. Caughlan clerked for the Hon. Robert P. Applegate of the Los Angeles Superior Court. In addition, Mr. Caughlan has experience in franchise and distribution law with an emphasis in antitrust and unfair competition. He has also worked in the areas of criminal defense and family law. While working as a law clerk during law school Mr. Caughlan contributed efforts to a franchise dispute matter that would go on to win a judgment in excess of ten million dollars. Mr. Caughlan has mediated more than three-dozen domestic dispute matters in Riverside County in Southern California. Larry has taken the California Bar Exam and is awaiting the results.
Before law school Mr. Caughlan received experience in start-ups, sales, creative writing and television production. In addition to hosting the Syfy Channel hit television series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, Mr. Caughlan co-wrote, produced and starred in several short films. He also lived in the South American country of Chile for two years, where he provided humanitarian and religious service and became fluent in the Spanish language.
